Cafe Borrone

Opened by Rose and Roy Borrone in 1979 in Redwood City and relocated to its current Menlo Park home next to Kepler's Books in 1989, Cafe Borrone is a beloved Peninsula gathering spot that doubles as a live music venue. The cafe has hosted a long-running Friday night jazz series led by trombonist Clint Baker since 1990, drawing traditional jazz enthusiasts from across Northern California for sets by the Cafe Borrone All Stars. Now run by the second generation of the Borrone family, the European-style cafe pairs locally sourced food and coffee with an open-air patio that fills with music and conversation. It is one of the few Peninsula venues where you can hear top-shelf New Orleans-style jazz in a casual neighborhood setting.
