Built in 1986 through a partnership between the City of Mountain View and legendary promoter Bill Graham, Shoreline Amphitheatre seats 22,500 across 6,500 reserved seats and a sprawling 16,000-capacity lawn. Graham reportedly designed the venue's distinctive tent-like roof to echo the Grateful Dead's "Steal Your Face" logo. The site itself was reclaimed from a former San Francisco landfill as part of the Shoreline Park project. For four decades, it has anchored the Bay Area's outdoor concert season with headliners ranging from the Dead's own marathon runs to modern arena-level tours.
